Current Work

I am presently working on a proposal for King and Country, an alternate-history novel featuring Benjamin Franklin as the principal character. This book is set in 1754, in an America that will not have an American Revolution.

My most recent completed novel, set in Paris in 1885 and dealing with a conflict between rival groups of mesmerists, is presently in a parking orbit until the publisher decides what to do with it. I hope to see it sometime soon, and will keep everyone informed of its progress.

I have written two shorter pieces – a real challenge for me! – set in the King and Country timestream. One tells the story of the Battle of New Orleans in 1815 and how Andrew Jackson became a great (British) American hero; the other is set in Nova Rossiya (Russian California) and features Martin Van Buren. I'm currently trying to puzzle out a story set in Ohio in the 1780s involving Joseph Brant and Anthony Wayne. I love this stuff.
